REQUEST: PAKULA'S 1970s PARANOIA TRILOGY VS. FRANKENHEIMER'S 1960s PARANOIA TRILOGY

Piggybacking on Part-Time Fanboy's suggestion of Seven Days in May, how about a versus episode that pits one of John Frankeheimer's entries in his 1960s paranoia trilogy against one from Alan J. Pakula's 1970s paranoia trilogy? Not only are most of these movies timely for an election year where politics is on the forefront of everyone's mind, but they both provide some natural talking points about the eras each were made in and the visual aesthetics used by each director to tell their stories. And each movie is built around an iconic movie star that, whether intended or not, plays with those actors personas and relationships in interesting ways.

Anyway, just throwing the idea out there.

And it looks like someone else requested Seconds earlier, so there might be a synchronicity to thought going on here.
