I can't be the only one...

They've always struck me as more of a sibling rivalry relationship. They go from wanting to kill each other, to giving each other high fives and agreeing with everything - like Step Brothers! #PrestigeInternational

Haha! Can't say I'm a shipper for them, but the thought of them falling for each other has popped into my head while listening to the podcast. They used to get into really heated arguments, but I feel like they've eased up and have a unique rapport. I don't know; maybe I've watched too many Meg Ryan movies.

Naw. Though I would support an au fic in which they have careers as part of a Beatles cover band, with Amy as John and Devin as Paul.

Weirdly enough, this is not those things. Confused me too.

No. This isn't Harry Potter, or The O.C., or some third thing, or whatever.

Nah. Their familiarity and constant bickering make them seem almost as much like siblings than as friends. Once you cross the 33.3% siblingish line (and they're just across it), it just gets icky to ship them. Of course, they can do whatever they want.

@Arbocobra

Nah, that's just Devin's style. He's an ass. Any reason to dig into someone, or even make up wholesale lies about stuff someone else said, if it gets them riled up.

Have you listened to the Temple of Doom episode? Sorry to spoil it if you A) haven't and B) plan to very soon but...

SPOILER PARTITION

SPOILER PARTITION

...Devin spent at least 90% of that episode advocating why he felt ToD was a great movie, which borderline-enraged Amy at times. Then, at the end, he said he always intended to vote against it. He just wanted to argue and push Amy's buttons rather than agree with her about anything.

Whenever I think what it must be like to be in the recording booth with them, I picture that Devin's a mushroom-fueled Viking berserker, screaming and trying to wail on Amy with a big blunt weapon over every disputable point imaginable. While Amy's sitting back (in jaunty Renaissance tights) and occasionally retorting by poking Devin in the heart with her epee.

I'm not sure I know what this thread is about. What's the title a reference too?

I just started listening to The Canon this week and the main impression I get is that Devin absolutely can't stand Amy.

I've heard about five episodes from the archives, and maybe I just chose particularly contentious ones, but holy hell, he's an absolute cow in the Mission: Impossible review.

It's like Moonlighting, if they ever got together the chemistry would good away.
