Ok, I know it would be a lot of "Is X,Y or Z Canon worthy?" but I wondered if there was a way to have a live Q&A with them to ask them any questions about film in general or things from the previous episodes that may stick out. Every episode I have at least ten things I want to ask them, and I thought it could be a cool way to interact with them and with everyone around here.
Dumb? Cool? Let me know.
Ask me anything.
..................What does "AMA" mean?
@himartinson I love that idea!
You know, Devin suggested doing a Public Enemies vs. Blackhat episode, where the vote is "neither," but I think it's really just a chance for Tangerine to get in without having to do an episode for it.
I like this idea, and I also like @iamkazaam's idea about the hosts responding to our comments.
I'd actually been considering creating a thread of how, as much as I love the show, the reveal of the "winner" at the beginning of each episode can feel anti-climactic, where usually they just mention the result and immediately move on - especially if there was a lot of good discussion in the forums, or if it was a close vote, or something else notable happened (like the Great Tangerine Revolt of '15). And calling out posts & commenters by name is a great way to nurture this little online community we got going.
Sometimes they'll post something on Twitter, but not everyone is on there, and stuff like that quickly fades into the mists of time, whereas podcasts by their nature are sort of like archives.
An AMA would be fun.
I like that idea, IAMKAZAM. But don't they usually record the episodes back to back? I feel like that might get in the way.
Def a cool idea.
Here's another idea. In addition to posting a voting thread, the hosts could make a second thread where listeners can write stuff about next week's movie. Then there can be a short segment where the hosts respond to the posts they find the most worthwhile.
Kind of like what Paul Scheer does for those HDTGM minisodes.
