Is this a movie only for obsessive fanboys/girls to endlessly quote back and forth to? And/or is a meditation on the end of an era, that can apply to any era that has flamed out. "They're selling hippy wigs in Woolworths'. I saw this movie when it first came out when I was in college and I was firmly team Withnail for a very long time. However now re-watching it, and it does hold up, I am team Marwood. I guess that means my era has flamed out.
Withnail and I vs. Naked would be a brutal versus.
I'd love to hear an in-depth discussion about this film. It's cult. But I didn't get it. So there's probably lots of context and stuff that just flew over my head.
P.S. Someone suggested the film just last month.
I'd be very down for this. I really want to know why this film is so beloved. Never got it but could be swayed.
This is a great recommendation!
